this is probably a really stupid question but wouldnt getting rid of the fuse make my gun no longer work?

no.as long as you solder the wires back together it will be fine.this may be wrong but the fuse is just a precaution for your gun so your battery output doesnt exceed the max capabilities of you motor and gearbox.i apologize if this is wrong though.
